Group Experience
When you arrive at INSEAD, you are assigned to a study group. Your group will be made up of 5 or 6 of your fellow students from different countries and professional backgrounds to make it as diverse as possible. You will get to know your group very well as you work on various projects during the first few periods of your MBA.
The primary objective of working within a study group is to develop team building and leadership skills. You will also learn to work with people from different backgrounds and cultures, who may not always see things the way you do - in fact, you will likely have diverging opinions and perspectives. In your group, you will learn how to share ideas, to question, to challenge, to negotiate, to encourage, to support and above all, to listen to each other.
Annie Mengyu Luo, 2009 student talking about the group experience:
"It's unpredictable, stimulating and fun. I think in a sense I learn more from working in groups than attending lecture. It's amazing how much the group work resembles real-life work experience: the deadlines, the stress, and the sense of teamwork and accomplishment. I've made good friends through working in a group together. This to me is an invaluable experience."
